Grabbed the Bull by the Horns

Grabbed the Bull by the Horns

Figuratively: confronted the main issue. Took control of the source of the matter. Seized the essential point without fear.

("And Rabbi Yochanan said: How was King Solomon’s way to ascend and sit on the throne? They would take a bull by its horns, give it to the lion, and warn it, saying ‘beware in King Solomon’s presence that nothing harms you’" – Otzar HaMidrashim (Eisenstein), Shlomo HaMelech, 528)
