A House That Was Destroyed Because of Baseless Hatred
The reason for the destruction of the Second Temple was sinat chinam, baseless hatred—unjustified hatred of one another.
("But the Second Temple, where they engaged in Torah, mitzvot, and acts of kindness—why was it destroyed? Because there was baseless hatred. This teaches that baseless hatred is equivalent to three transgressions: idolatry, sexual immorality, and bloodshed" – Yoma 9b)

הַסִּבָּה לְחֻרְבַּן בֵּית הַמִּקְדָּשׁ הַשֵּׁנִי הִנָּהּ שִׂנְאַת חִנָּם, שִׂנְאָה חַסְרַת הַצְדָּקָה שֶׁל הָאֶחָד כְּלַפֵּי הַשֵּׁנִי.
