A poetic term for a library in Haskalah literature (Beit Eked was the name of a place on the way from Jezreel to Samaria).

כִּנּוּי מְלִיצִי לְסִפְרִיָּה בְּסִפְרוּת הַתְּחִיָּה (עֵקֶד סְפָרִים= סְפָרִים הַקְּשׁוּרִים/מְאֻגָּדִים יַחַד, עֵקֶד – חֲבִילָה קְשׁוּרָה, אֲגֻדָּה, כְּמוֹ "עֲקֵדַת יִצְחָק", קְשִׁירָתוֹ שֶׁל יִצְחָק לַמִּזְבֵּחַ).
