A boy or young man (possibly derived from the word shachar, meaning dawn, or shachor, meaning black, before the hair turns gray).

נַעַר אוֹ בָּחוּר (יִתָּכֵן וְתִשְׁחֹרֶת נִגְזָר מֵהַמִּלָּה 'שַׁחַר' בְּמַשְׁמָעוּת שַׁחַר הַיָּמִים, אוֹ 'שָׁחֹר'-בְּטֶרֶם הַשֵּׂעָר מַלְבִּין).
