To be pleased about (gratified by) something done / to congratulate someone on finishing a task

Blessed the completion of the task. Figuratively: finished at a good hour. Thanked God upon completing the work (originally: blessed the spices or incense. “Mugmar” in Aramaic means fragrant spices or incense).

(“And they do not bring the ‘mugmar’ and the spices to the house of mourning” – Small Tractates, Tractate Simchot, Baraitot Me’avel Rabati, Ch. 5; and likewise: “The one who recites the Grace after Meals blesses over the ‘mugmar,’ Creator of fragrant woods” – R. Ovadia of Bertinoro, Berachot 6.)
