The accursed cannot cling to the blessed

The accursed cannot cling to the blessed

Something cursed or evil cannot attach itself to something blessed and good.

("‘Cursed be Canaan...’ And since Abraham married Hagar the Egyptian, and the Egyptians were the children of Ham, it seems that Abraham himself was joined to the accursed. To this it is said that the curse was not upon Ham, as stated in the Midrash: since Ham had already been blessed by God, the accursed cannot cling to the blessed, and only Canaan was cursed." - Panim Yafot, Genesis 9:25)
