God does not withhold reward even for a kindly phrase
Figuratively: God gives recompense and reward to everyone for every deed performed, even the smallest.

בְּהַשְׁאָלָה: הקב"ה נוֹתֵן גְּמוּל וְשָׂכָר לְכָל אֶחָד בְּגִין כָּל מַעֲשֶׂה שֶׁעָשָׂה וְלוּ הַקָּטָן בְּיוֹתֵר.
