A person's evil inclination grows stronger and is more likely to influence them when they see something with their own eyes. When temptation is distant from sight, the evil inclination has less impact.

יֵּצֶר הָרָע שֶׁל הָאָדָם מִתְחַזֵּק כְּשֶׁרוֹאָה אֶת הַדָּבָר עַצְמוֹ בְּמוֹ עֵינָיו. כַּאֲשֶׁר הַפִּתּוּי רָחוֹק מֵהָעַיִן אֲזַי יֵשׁ לְיֵצֶר הָרָע פָּחוֹת הַשְׁפָּעָה עַל הָאָדָם.
