To interpret the Torah in a mistaken manner. To distort the words of the Torah or to pervert the halakhah.

פֵּרֵשׁ אֶת הַתּוֹרָה בְּצוּרָה מֻטְעֵית. סִלֵּף אֶת דִּבְרֵי הַתּוֹרָה אוֹ עִוֵּת אֶת הַהֲלָכָה.
