Mountains hanging by a hair/ Castles in the air
By metaphor: great and important matters based on minimal foundations. Or: lofty ideas or notions insufficiently grounded. Things that are unstable and liable to collapse at any moment.
("The mountain of vows is like a cloud in the air, and they have nothing to rely on. The journeys of the Sabbath, the feasts, and the mountaintops are like the mountains hanging from its peak - which have little reading and many journeys. בְּהַשְׁאָלָה: דְּבָרִים גְּדוֹלִים וַחֲשׁוּבִים הַמִּתְבַּסְּסִים עַל נְתוּנִים מִזְעָרִיִּים. אוֹ: הַשְׁעָרוֹת אוֹ רַעֲיוֹנוֹת גְּבוֹהִים בִּלְתִּי מְבֻסָּסִים מַסְפִּיק. דְּבָרִים שֶׁאֵינָם יַצִּיבִים וַעֲלוּלִים לְהִתְמוֹטֵט בְּכָל רֶגַע.
