To doubt the truths. Not inclined to believe. Was a skeptic (סָפֵק means doubt, questioning or lack of certainty).

פִּקְפֵּק בַּאֲמִתּוֹת. לֹא נָטָה לְהַאֲמִין. הָיָה סַפְקָן (סָפֵק מַשְׁמָע פִּקְפּוּק אוֹ חֹסֶר וַדָּאוּת).
