If the damp have caught fire, what will the dry do?
Figuratively: If the situation is so dire that even the strong have fallen, how will the weak cope? Similar in meaning to: 'If a flame has fallen among the cedars, what will the moss on the wall do?' Literally: If the fire is so strong that it has burned the damp trees, what will the dry ones do, being even more flammable?

בְּהַשְׁאָלָה: אִם הַמַּצָּב כָּל כָּךְ קָשֶׁה עַד שֶׁהַחֲזָקִים נָפְלוּ כֵּיצַד יִתְמוֹדְדוּ כְּנֶגְדּוֹ הַחַלָּשִׁים? פִּתְגָּם דּוֹמֶה לְפִתְגָּם: 'אִם בָּאֲרָזִים נָפְלָה שַׁלְהֶבֶת מָה יַעֲשׂוּ אֲזוֹבֵי הַקִּיר'. מִלּוּלִית: אִם הָאֵשׁ כָּל כָּךְ חֲזָקָה וְהִצְלִיחָה לִשְׂרֹף אֶת הָעֵצִים הָרְטוּבִים, מָה יַעֲשׂוּ הָעֵצִים הַיְּבֵשִׁים שֶׁהֵם דְּלִיקִים יוֹתֵר?
