בָּנִים אַתֶּם לַה' אֱלֹהֵיכֶם
בִּטּוּי הַמְּבַטֵּא אֶת יַחֲסוֹ הָאוֹהֵב שֶׁל ה' לְעַמּוֹ.

("You are children of the Lord your God; do not make baldness between your eyes to die" – Deuteronomy 14:1; and likewise: “And you shall teach them to your children,” referring to your disciples. And you find in every place where disciples are called children, as it is said: “You are children of the Lord your God” – Sifrei, Parashat Va’etchanan; and likewise: “Rabbi Akiva said: Israel is beloved because they are called children of the Divine, giving them additional love, as it is said: ‘You are children of the Lord your God’” – Avot 3)
