הַבְּחִירָה הַחָפְשִׁית
הַיְּכֹלֶת וְהַזְּכוּת לִבְחֹר בֵּין עֲשִׂיַּת טוֹב לְבֵין עֲשִׂיַּת רַע לְלֹא כְּפִיָּה. עִקָּרוֹן חָשׁוּב בָּאֱמוּנָה וּלְפִיהָ לְכָל אָדָם יֶשְׁנָהּ בְּחִירָה חָפְשִׁית, וְעַל פִּי בְּחִירָתוֹ שֶׁלּוֹ יֵשׁ שָׂכָר וְעֹנֶשׁ עַל מַעֲשָׂיו.

The ability and the right to choose between doing good and doing evil without coercion. An important principle in faith and according to it, every person has free choice, and according to their choice there is reward and punishment for their deeds.
("For the answer is that the work is worthless if it is done out of a free choice and with the desire of the heart, not if it is done out of necessity" - Malbim and he read chapter 1, and so: "And behold, there are two cords, a cord of holiness, and its opposite is impurity, and a free choice. Whoever sanctifies himself binds himself with a cord "Dikdusha" - R.
