A woman who is with her lover swears by her husband’s name.

The way of a cheating spouse is to swear by the life of the betrayed spouse.

("You know what Saul did, how he cut off the priests of the Lord and the Gibeonites from the earth; and why are you pursuing me to put me to death?" (1 Samuel 28). He said to her, 'As the Lord lives, if it pleases you to show kindness to me in this matter' (1 Samuel 28). Rashi interprets this as a parable: Saul is like a woman who is given to her lover and swears by her husband’s life – Midrash Tanchuma (Warsaw) Parashat Emor, Sign 2.)
