Respect for the Dead

The honor due to a deceased person; the obligation not to desecrate their dignity.

("Because of respect for the dead, at first they would carry out the rich on a couch and the poor in a basket; later they returned to carrying them out either on the couch or in a basket, because of the dignity of the poor" - Tosefta, Tractate Niddah (Zuckermandel), Chapter 9)
