As a Bright Mirror (כְּאַסְפַּקְלַרְיָה מְאִירָה)

As a Bright Mirror

Like a mirror that reflects light. Figuratively: like something beautiful that illuminates its surroundings ("aspaklaria" means mirror, or a type of glass that in the past was used for windows).

("All the prophets saw through an aspaklaria that was not bright, but our teacher Moses saw through the bright aspaklaria" - Yevamot 49b, and likewise: "And if we delve deeply and look through a bright aspaklaria, we will see that the Talmudic saying was correct in both cases" - Berdyczewski, Writings, vol. 2, p. 20, and likewise: "And the gravel glitters before them like a bright aspaklaria, in which the dandies look for beauty" - Agnon, Yesterday and Today, 61)
