One thing in hardship is better for a person than a hundred in ease
A person values more something achieved through effort and toil than something that came easily.
("If you studied Torah in a time of plenty, do not sit idle in a time of hunger. אָדָם אוֹהֵב וּמַעֲרִיךְ יוֹתֵר דָּבָר שֶׁהִשִּׂיג בְּמַאֲמָץ וִיגִיעָה מֵאֲשֶׁר דָּבָר שֶׁהִגִּיעַ אֵלָיו בְּקַלּוּת.
