Let your student's honor be as dear to you as your own.
Your student's honor should be as precious in your eyes as your own honor.

From where do we learn that a person's student's honor should be as dear to him as his own? Let everyone learn from Moses our teacher, who said to Joshua, 'Choose men for us' (Exodus 17). כְּבוֹד תַּלְמִידְךָ צָרִיךְ לִהְיוֹת יָקָר בְּעֵינֶיךָ כְּמוֹ כְּבוֹדְךָ שֶׁלְּךָ.
