Do not belittle the blessing of a simple person who has blessed you.

(“And Rabbi Elazar said in the name of Rabbi Chanina: Never let the blessing of a layman be light in your eyes, for two of the greatest of the generation were blessed by two laymen and their blessings were fulfilled; these are David and Daniel” – Megillah 15a.
