Figuratively: lacking influence or importance; considered insignificant because it is negligible compared to the much larger whole. (Originally: in Jewish law, a non-kosher substance mixed into a permitted mixture sixty times its volume is considered nullified and does not invalidate the mixture.)

(“A substance of one kind mixed with a different kind that is permitted—such as terumah mixed with ordinary produce, or a pot in which terumah was cooked and afterward ordinary food was cooked in it—should be tasted by a priest; and if he does not recognize the prohibited substance, it is nullified in sixty.
