הַקִּנְאָה מִתְעוֹרֶרֶת בְּעִקָּר בֵּין אֲנָשִׁים הַדּוֹמִים זֶה לָזֶה בְּמַעֲמַד, בְּכִשָּׁרוֹן אוֹ בְּעֹשֶׁר. אָדָם לֹא יְקַנֵּא בְּמָה שֶׁאֵין לוֹ סִכּוּי לְהַשִּׂיג אוֹ בְּמָה שֶׁאֵינוֹ רוֹאֶה אֶת עַצְמוֹ שַׁיָּךְ אֵלָיו.
