Better is the end of a matter than its beginning
The important thing is how the matter turned out. What matters most is the "bottom line." The final outcome is more important. Or: a good thing is already apparent at its beginning.

הַדָּבָר הֶחָשׁוּב הִנּוֹ כֵּיצַד הִסְתַּיֵּם הַדָּבָר. הַדָּבָר הֲכִי חָשׁוּב הִנּוֹ "הַשּׁוּרָה הַתַּחְתּוֹנָה". הַתּוֹצָאָה הַסּוֹפִית חֲשׁוּבָה יוֹתֵר. אוֹ: דָּבָר טוֹב נִכָּר כְּבָר בְּרֵאשִׁיתוֹ.
