Better a little than nothing/ better aught than naught/ half a loaf is better than no bread

A small achievement is preferable to nothing at all. Anything is better than nothing.

("Your dear letter reached me some days ago, and because of the demands on my time I was late in reading it carefully, and I have now taken it up in order to reply out of respect. Although I cannot now fulfill my friend's wish by replying at length, in any case, better a little than nothing" — Responsa Mishpat Kohen (Issues of the Land of Israel), section 85)
