Better a little than nothing/ better aught than naught/ half a loaf is better than no bread
A small achievement is preferable to nothing at all. Anything is better than nothing.
("Your dear letter reached me some days ago, and because of the demands on my time I was late in reading it carefully, and I have now taken it up in order to reply out of respect. עָדִיף הֶישֵּׂג קָטָן מֵאֲשֶׁר שׁוּם דָּבָר. הַכֹּל יוֹתֵר טוֹב מֵאֲשֶׁר כְּלוּם.
