Sat despondent
Sat sad and wretched; or sat idle and inactive. In its original sense, it can mean bewildered or ruined.

יָשַׁב עָצוּב וְאֻומְלָל. אוֹ: יָשַׁב חֲסַר מַעַשׂ (בְּמָקוֹר מִשָּׁמַיִם מַשְׁמָע מְבֹוהָל, הָרוּס).
