תרגום
ביטוי (אנגלית)
If he gave, he shall not take back
הגדרה (אנגלית)
If he gave, he cannot take it back. Similar to the legal principle of 'finality of a gift', meaning ownership of the property passes immediately to the recipient of the gift, and the giver cannot reclaim it.
("If the son dies within thirty days—even if he gave to the priest, he shall return it; after thirty days—even if he did not give, he shall give... Rabbi Akiva says: If he gave, he shall not take back" – Bekhorot 49a)
