Unique within its type; very special and unlike the others. An exceptional or rare thing in its uniqueness ("kind" meaning type).

("For the offspring of an ascent-offering and a complete peace-offering, each is brought according to its kind: this one for the sake of an ascent-offering and that one for the sake of a peace-offering" - Tosafot, tractate Nazir 25a; and likewise: "That is not the case in the matter at hand, since it is not available to everyone and is unique in its kind" - Responsa Simchat Kohen, part Orach Chayim, siman 78; and likewise: "Thus, in the higher reality there is a singular body unique in its kind, and it sustains everything and directs everything, and it is the ninth sphere, which moves and carries all the spheres and revolves them from east to west.
