Who is wise? He who learns from every person
The true wise person knows that it is possible to learn from every person. A wise person knows how to find something to learn from everyone.
("Ben Zoma says: Who is wise? He who learns from every person, as it is said (Psalms 119:99) 'From all my teachers I have gained understanding' – Avot 4:1, and likewise: 'A great rule in the Torah is that the Torah is acquired only in a group. And who is wise? He who learns from every person. הֶחָכָם הָאֲמִתִּי יוֹדֵעַ שֶׁאֶפְשָׁר לִלְמֹד מִכָּל אָדָם. אִישׁ חָכָם יוֹדֵעַ לִמְצֹא בְּכָל אָדָם דָּבָר שֶׁנִּתָּן לִלְמֹד מִמֶּנּוּ.
