Tallit Katan/ Small fringed shawl (worn under clothes)

הגדרה (אנגלית)

A small garment with tzitzit worn on the body, usually under the shirt. A regular tallit is larger and is wrapped around the body during prayers in the synagogue.

("Sadin"—it is the small tallit that men wrap themselves in, and its well-known name in the West is "Ahram" and in Egypt "Artsi"—Rambam's Commentary on the Mishnah, Tractate Kelim, chapter 20, 7; and likewise: "And the kapota was open in front of him and the tzitzit of the 'small tallit' hung down over his stomach"—H.
